Hélène Bazin, originally from France, resides in Stevensville with her husband (Clark) and her menagerie of critters. Hélène received her doctorate in Carbohydrate Chemistry in Lyon, France in 1994. After pursuing several opportunities in the Midwest, her fiancé convinced her to follow up on a job opportunity with a little company in Montana called Corixa (now GSK). The rest, as they say, is history.

Hélène’s life interest in photography took a new meaning when she saw the Rocky Mountains for the first time. Maybe it was love or just the thin air that she became inspired to get serious about photography. To categorize her artistic style would be pretentious but perhaps an “eclectic vista of nature” comes close. She has won many blue ribbons at the Ravalli County Fair for her prints of flowers, landscapes, abstracts and natural phenomenon. She has an uncanny ability to grasp the breathtaking beauty of everyday nature. Many of her prints are available as hand made greeting cards at Chapter One Bookstore in Hamilton.

Her second independent show, currently at the “Rocky Mountain Bank” in Stevensville, is but a few of her reflections of the Big Sky and the beautiful Bitterroot Valley that lies beneath. We hope you enjoy the view.
